The human race always thought it would last forever, but it only brought along its own destruction. It's been a couple thousand years of pollution, city expansion and destruction, and they've finally killed themselves off. However, the mess they left behind is extensive, spreading over every single foot of land, and many species have gone extinct. Even horses are endangered, and somehow every single one of them is gathering together on a small island known to the humans as Cumberland Island, just off the coast of Georgia. Some are still coming, some are already there.
Comprising of partially or fully dead forests, littered and polluted sand, and salthingyer marshes, the place that they know as Adica Island has become home to the surviving equines. The conditions are harsh, but they are better than anywhere else. Then, one day, the island between the solid mainland and Adica Island was blessed by a single, drifting feather of pure white. No one knows where it came from, but most of Stafford Island was reborn, so to speak. It is now filled with lush grass, and a multitude of trees for shelter, among otehr things. It's the stopping point for all newcomers, and many who wish to get away from the terrible grounds they have to live on. The sand bridge that was raised with the touch of the feather makes it even easier to get onto the larger island, the closest thing to a safe haven that these survivors have.
It wasn't long until each and every herd leader began to realize what would happen if they could take over Stafford Island, or even get a feather for their own lands. Unsure how to accomplish the latter, they began aiming for the first option. It was already difficult to live, and full of fights over better terrain, but with the current incentive, the fight has reached a peak. Not only is it herd against herd, but horse against horse. In this new, decaying world, have the horses any hope of survival?

Feather is a future-day wild horse roleplaying game which has no 'light versus dark' theme, but rather every herd for itself. It focuses mainly on realism, but there is a slight bit of fantasy to it as well. No longer is there simply the creation of new herd lands if they are all taken. No, on Adica Island, it takes in character events to make this happen. There are new regions to be named, herd lands to be blessed, and a possible war on the horizon. Anything could happen to anyone, and the only thing that may bring peace is the blessings of the heavens and the mystical feathers which bring such wonderful transformations. Will the previous Cumberland Island ever return to the natural beauty that the planet earth used to hold centuries back? That depends entirely on what you choose to fight for; The finding of a feather, or the bountiful land that the first one created. The choice is yours.

About 200 years ago, a war was waged. There are no records of this war, no survivor tales ever made it past the lips of the dead. In todays world, the living trudge through their days in content, oblivious to the blood filled history of this peaceful land. Lately though, evidence of battle has been discovered scattered over the vast fertile land the Magic Star. Yet still the people of this realm remain ignorant.

What we do know is that this realm, this beautiful home of ours, is full of the arcane. Magic runs through the life blood of our people, installing each with mysterious and powerful abilities. To guide us on our journey to discover the extent of our magic, eight Immortals have been chosen and installed with the ability of an Element, each power as individual as the owner.

What would have happened if Sora failed?
What if Xehanort won the battle and the Door was opened?
Darkness would consume the worlds. Heartless and Nobodies would run freely and create chaos. Malificent, Oogie Boogie, Captain Hook, Ursula, and all the other villains would be resurrected. Organization XIII would be stronger and probably more ambitious. The worlds would be restored, but wrapped with Darkness.
"He opened the door, but he doesn't have Kingdom Hearts." Xemnas declared solely, frowning at the thought of his heartless taking his glory. "We'll take Kingdom Hearts before he does. It needs hearts, the strongest hearts! And when we have delivered them Kingdom Hearts will be ours!" The silver-haired man raised his arms above his head, the glow of the heart shaped moon contrasting against his dark cloak.
"How?" The question hung in the air a moment, the speaker being Axel. "How should we gather these hearts?" Xemnas was silent for a moment, lowering his gaze to the Flurry. "By any means possible. We'll use the Keybalde-" He waved his hand to Roxas. "-and any other way. We will have Kingdom Hearts!"
Opening his eyes, Riku saw nothing but darkness. Last he remembered he held Ansem back to let Sora and Kairi escape. Now he found himself in nothingness, discarded like the useless tool he was. Sitting up, he placed a hand on his forehead. "What have I done?" The youth asked himself in a shaky voice.
"Riku, come with me." A squeaky voice said. Looking up the boy found a mouse, holding a keyblade. "Who are you?" He asked skeptically. "King Mickey. I know what you've been through. Come with me. We can find a way to fix this mess!" Riku knew of King Mickey and felt relief in his heart. With a nod he stood and followed the King.
Was it all for nothing? Sora had his doubts. It had been a whole year and still he had not found Riku or the door. Kairi was safe at Disney Castle, for the time being at least. What was left? Could he even defeat Ansem? Once already he had failed.
"Sora, what have I told you? No sad faces!" Donald suddenly said. The lad looked up and nodded. "I know...it's just that...well, we haven't gotten anywhere! We can't find Riku or the King, there's no place safe for Kairi, and I don't even know if we can defeat Ansem or this Organization XIII!" He closed his hands into fists and shook his head. "Aw, don't worry Sora. We can do it, we'll win!" Goofy words were an encouragement, yet Sora still had to wonder if he was right.
There is little light in the worlds, now, a year after the dark battle. Sora, Goofy, and Donald search for a way to set things right whileMickey and Riku find their own way with some help from the enigmatic DiZ. Organization XIII, including Roxas and Namine, search for a way to tame Kingdom Hearts and make it their own since the door has opened. All the other villains are back, along with new ones. The Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee struggles even more with the darkness taking their home and can do little to assist Sora and the gang.

Saruin is dead. The chaos that followed his resurrection is gone. His followers long gone...or so it seems.
